Minister O’Gorman today launched Nurturing Skills – The Workforce Plan for Early Learning and Care and School-Age Childcare 2022-2028

Nurturing Skills sets out an ambitious yet achievable direction for the Early Learning and Care & School-Age Childcare workforce in Ireland.

The targets outlined in Nurturing Skills will be supported by the development of a new Core Funding Model for the ELC and SAC sector.

By 2028, Nurturing Skills will achieve a graduate-led workforce, develop career frameworks/pathways and build a national CPD infrastructure.

Nurturing Skills will support recruitment and retention in the sector, including the development of a range of entry-routes into the sector.
